Prof Clara Chow
Prof Clara Chow is Staff Cardiologist at Westmead Hospital, Head of the Cardiac Program at the George Institute for Global Health and is the current President of the Cardiac Society of Australia-New Zealand (CSANZ). Following her cardiology training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, she did a PhD in Cardiovascular Epidemiology and International Public Health at the University of Sydney and a post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Trials and Cardiac Imaging at McMaster University, Canada. Her research interests are in cardiovascular disease prevention and her clinical focus is in cardiac imaging, particularly Cardiac Computed Tomography and Echocardiography.
Prof Christian Hamilton-Craig
Prof Christian Hamilton-Craig is an Honorary Eminent Staff Cardiologist at the Prince Charles Hospital Brisbane, Professor of Medicine at Griffith University School of Medicine, and Associate Professor at University of Queensland Faculty of Medicine and the Centre for Advanced Imaging. His clinical practice is at Noosa Hearts Cardiology, Noosa Hospital, Sunshine Coast QLD.
He trained at the University of the Sacred Heart, Rome, Italy, the University of Erlangen, Germany, and the University of Washington, USA. He is currently co-chair of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography for Australia-NZ, and the Chair of the RANZCR/CSANZ/ANZCMR Conjoint Committee for Certification in Cardiac MRI.
Dr Subodh Joshi
Dr Subodh Joshi is a consultant cardiologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital specialising in non-invasive cardiac imaging. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Melbourne and trained in cardiology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He has speciality training in non-invasive cardiac imaging, echo and Cardiac MRI and CT both locally and in Washington DC, Toronto and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He is board certified in Cardiac CT in the United States and is a fellow of numerous international professional bodies including the Society of Cardiovascular CT, the American Society for Echocardiography and the American College of Cardiology.
Dr John O'Rourke
Dr John O’Rourke completed his Radiology training at St Vincents’ and Westmead Hospitals in Sydney and completed a one year Fellowship in Body Imaging and MRI at St Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada. He has worked at St Vincent’s General and Private Hospitals and was the Clinical Director and Head of Cardiac Imaging at the Westmead practice of a large corporate radiology group. In 2001 with tertiary cardiologists, he co- founded HeartScan Institute, a dedicated facility to teach local and international specialists in advanced coronary artery CT imaging. In 2002, Dr O’Rourke established a highly regarded practice in Western Sydney – Medscan Merrylands and HeartScan Australia. In conjunction with Westmead Hospital and local cardiologists, Medscan and HeartScan Australia has established itself as the premier provider of high level cardiac imaging including CTCA, echocardiography and cardiac MRI imaging. Our team is one of the largest providers of CTCA imaging in Australia and a leader in cardiac MRI reporting.
Dr Aravinda Thiagalingam
Dr Aravinda Thiagalingam is a staff specialist in the cardiologist Westmead Hospital and Director of Echocardiography for Westmead Hospital. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Otago (New Zealand) and his PhD from the University of Sydney. He has trained in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Westmead Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He has clinical and research interests in the fields of cardiac imaging and cardiovascular electrophysiology and has numerous publications in these fields.
Dr Jason Kaplan
Dr Jason Kaplan studied medicine at the UNSW and graduated with Honours, then completed his internal medicine training at St George and Prince of Wales Hospitals and adult cardiology training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. His clinical interests include sports cardiology, preventative cardiology and cardiac imaging including Advanced echocardiography and Cardiac CT. He has had 9 years experience in Cardiac CT, after initially training during his cardiology fellowship and has continued his Cardiac CT experience by attending numerous national and International courses and meetings. He practices at Macquarie University where he is the clinical lead of the cardiovascular program and in Sydney’s CBD.
